Memphis Go Getters
Have you ever had an idea for years but never did anything with it?
Do you find reasons and excuses that cause you to never do it?
Well, I have been there and done that.
I have decided to do a little experiment.
I know you have seen the latest online challenges, like the ice bucket challenge.
Today, I have challenged myself to create a new online business in 30 days, my deadline is April 30th to have the site up and open for business.
As I embark on this challenge, I will document my thought, steps, and resources to make it happen.
Why am I telling you this?
Personally, I like challenges and pushing myself to test my abilities.
Also, I felt if I put it out there publicly then I will be held accountable to others.
Plus, I want to learn the ins and out of creating an e-commerce business.
More importantly, I want to challenge you to do the same.
Yes, this exercise is really about putting time limits on yourself to get what you need done faster and with more urgency.
One of my favorite quotes is “Success honors fast implementation”.
The funny thing is the time-frame you assign to complete a task is the exact time it normally takes for you to get it done. So, if you give yourself 1 day or a week that is exactly how long it will take for you to get it done.
Personally, I believe when you shorten the time-frame, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish under the clock.
I challenge you to implement a personal or business goal within the next 30 Days
Yes, stop playing and put a time limit on it
Next, you should do these 3 steps.
- Define and set your goal
- Write a game plan breaking down your goal into small wins for each week
- Focus and remove distractions to take massive action each day toward your goal.
Lets discuss some limiting beliefs I hear people always saying.
“I want to wait until it’s perfect before releasing it.”
“The time is just not right.”
STOP RIGHT THERE
Everybody will not like what you do but remember what you do will not be for everyone.
The time will never be perfect but success honors fast implementation.
Here is a simple example how companies speed up their implementation process.
Did you know most major companies focus on their MVP?
No, I’m not talking about the Most Valuable Player like Stephen Curry but instead Minimal Viable Product.
Basically, companies want to create the minimum product or solution they can quickly roll out to test in the market.
This process allows them to keep cost and risk low to gain feedback from their target customers.
From there, they tweak and improve the product.
That is why every other year Samsung comes out with new Galaxy smartphone version. They have built upon their initial MVP version to adjust it to now have the Galaxy 7.
So, I encourage you to quickly implement your 1.0 version to learn what needs to be in your 2.0.
Once again, I challenge you to step out there and say to the world “in 30 days I’m going to accomplish this goal.”
April 30th is fast approaching for me; I will keep you guys updated of my progress to get this online business going.
I would love to hear from you about the goal you will pursue.
